Majors

Because we value biblical education so highly, all students in four-year bachelor programs earn a major in Biblical Studies. Students may also choose to earn a second major (seven options).

 

Bemidji State University

Oak Hills Christian College has a transfer relationship
with Bemidji State University. This has been beneficial
for many students.

Emphasis Options

Students may take an emphasis in addition to
their chosen Bachelor of Arts/Science major.

The purpose of an emphasis is to provide students
with foundational courses in another area of ministry.
The emphasis will consist of four to five courses
totaling 10‑11 credits. Emphasis options are
available in the following ministry programs:
Intercultural Studies, Pastoral Ministry, Youth Ministry.

Emphasis courses already required in the chosen
major will be replaced by substitute courses.
These will be determined by the program director.
Students should declare their emphasis during
their sophomore year.

Bachelor of Arts

Biblical Studies (single major): This major adds extra emphasis on Biblical Studies. Students are prepared to begin work in several areas of ministry or to attend seminary or graduate school.

Biblical Studies and Camp Ministry: Students spend three years at OHCC and one year at Camp Forest Springs in Westboro, WI, preparing for camp leadership and administration.

Biblical Studies and Intercultural Studies:  This major prepares students for work in cross-cultural settings, whether at home or abroad.

Biblical Studies and Pastoral Ministry:  Biblical, theological, and practical foundations are included in this program of study for the pastorate. Students are prepared to pastor small churches or to continue their education at graduate school or seminary.

Biblical Studies and Applied Psychology: This major prepares students for employment in Human Services areas or for graduate work in counseling.

Bachelor (Online)

Leadership and Ministry: This major provides the student with the foundational preparation for leadership in a wide range of business and human service careers, as well as church and para-church ministries.

Associate (Online)

Biblical Studies and Ministry: To provide the adult online student a broadly based program of study in biblical studies and ministry studies. This program will prepare the student to serve in churches, para-church organizations or personal ministry or to pursue further education.

Two-Year Programs 

Associate in Arts (general):  This program combines General Education with Bible and Christian Ministry classes. The credits transfer to many state and private colleges.

Associate in Arts in Biblical Studies:  The AA in Biblical Studies is for those who desire a two-year concentration in Biblical Studies.

One-Year Program 

Certificate in Biblical Studies:  This one-year program equips students with a strong foundation of Bible content, application skills, and outreach opportunities. This course of study is valuable for anyone who wants to increase their knowledge of Scripture and deepen their walk with God.
